The County Championships have been played at the Club during the last 5 years. At the senior level we excel and the 2004/2005 Cambridgeshire Premier League was won by HCSC. We also hold several club tournaments each year. This includes handicaps, doubles, and club championships. The tournaments are extremely sociable and enjoyable.
HCSC has flourished throughout its history. Many club members have represented the County, universities and various countries at different age groups. The Club has held exhibitions by ex-World Champions and regular training programmes for Markers and Scorers.
HCSC is also home to the Sports Academy run by James Powley. The Sports Academy is an integral part of Hunts County Squash Club. Originally founded in Surrey in the early 1960s by David Morgan, the Sports Academy has set a standard for the development of young squash players. In the period between 1961 and 2001, over four hundred young players have been trained under the Sports Academy umbrella, both in England and Canada, with 50 or more of these reaching a standard where they were selected to represent their home countries at different age levels. James Powley continued the success of the Sports Academy in 2006 and in 2010 there are 2 tours organised to Portugal and Canada.
The Hunts County Gym (Managed by The Sports Academy team) was opened in 2006 and was designed and equipped by Nautilus to satisfy the requirements of both the serious sports competitor and those just looking to improve and maintain thier own levels of fitness. The Gym is quiet, efficient and has enough pieces of Nautilus gym equipment to satisfy the most demanding users.
